Avalon Organics

I have tried quite a number of Avalon Organics's products.  From skin, hair to body care.  Frankly i don't really like its skin care.  I have tried its cream and gel cleansers and moisturiser.  The moisturiser is in lotion but i find it too oily for myself.  In the end i used it as my body lotion.  Its gel cleansers are not too bad.  Quite gentle. I will use them as my morning wash. 

As for hair products, i find it so so. Could not find one that suits me.  However my husband feels its Clarifying Lemon is pretty good as really clean well his oily hair.  

Which may not be good as it may strip of all the hair natural oil.  Usually he used it when he didn't use any hair wax.  As he feels that there is not much form when he uses wax. 

I guess its body care is the best.  Gentle and nice scent.  I love its refreshing peppermint and soothing lavender.  Great for my morning wash. 

However i don't think i will continue using them as i find them not really cheap.  Will source for other cheaper orangic brands.  Cheers. 

Hair care review

Another reivew but this time is on shampoo. Even though i am not very active with my hair care, i am always looking out for the prefect hair care for me and my husband.  We have quite different hair texture.  My is coarse and his is oily.  Both of us concern about thining hairline.

After trying a number of brands, we quite like Natur Vital shampoo.  After trying a number of brands, we quite like Natur Vital shampoo. 

It is free from parabens and silicones.  We have tried both its hair loss and sensitive range.  Both are quite good.  Not over drying and it cleans well.  I think its pricing range is around $23. But i will usually buy them when there is a promotion, which is quite often.  Even with promotion each costs around $18, which is also not very cheap.  So usually i will alternate my shampoo.  Either Sunsilk which i find good for its price even though it is not organic or shampoos that i bought from iherb.  

As for Natur Vital's sensitive range, we have tried the shampoo for oily hair - Lime and for revitalizing - Ginseng.  Lime scent is present and not those fruit smell.  It really clean well and hair gets less oily.   Ginseng is slightly strong herbal scent, which i quite like.  Cleans well too.

Baby bag

What sort of bag do you use as a baby bag.

For my 1st son i quite liked the beige baby bag that thomson medical hospital provided.   It was very light and spacious.  However for my 2nd kid the bag that was provided was not so good.  Smaller and heavier. 

My ideal kind of baby bag must be light and super spacious. I think those umbrella material is the best. As i need to put not 1 kid stuff but 2.  Of course my eldest does not has that much stuff. Just a water bottle, long sleeves top, cap, raincoat and a book. Sometimes when i have too much things in my bag, i will ask my son to carry his own backpack. Because i scare my bag will burst. 

Previously i will use my Longchamp bag tote bag.  It is super light and can carry quite a lot.  Quite durable.  However most of my Longchamp are light in colour except 1 that was recently bought by my husband. 

It is in green.  Nice and i love it very much.  But sometimes i got this feeling it is going to burst as i tried to squeeze and zip it up.

During 1 of my husband trip to Stockholm, he found a black bag from its local brand.  

Costed not more than a hundred Singapore dollar.  It can hold quite a lot as i can squeeze most of my baby stuff.  And the bag is light and waterproof.  However, after torturing for three months, the inner lining torn. The bag still can be used but i am thinking what should my next baby bag be? 

Should i get a backpack or another tote bag.  My husband says he can get another "Stockholm" bag for me as he will be going soon.   But i find it a bit boring eventhought till now it is still the best baby bag that i tried.  Or Should i get the nike bag that i been eyeing.  Just worry quite difficult to move in crowded place especially bus or train as i baby wear my baby.  Front and back also bucky.  People will "hate" me. 

Or maybe i should buy another dark colour Longchamp bag.  Maybe i should try the Le Pliage range.  The material is thinner.

Ps i finally bought the nike backpack that i was eyeing as it is having pomotion.

Not more than $70 so i bought it.  Lol. Much bigger than my "Stockholm" bag but not sure is it really that good. 

Still trying to get use to it.

Feeling super lousy

The first time i met him, i was 16 years old. Almost 20 years ago. I became an aunt to this little one.  Then he came to stay with us.  Sometimes i made him sleep. Sometimes i played with him. Sometimes he cried and cried. Noisy! Saturday i even had to take care of him. Many times i was still asleep when he was awake. I will let him play on his own. Sonetimes he is so hungry he went kitchen looking for food. Woke up with a shock. Felt guilty. But i was in my teenage. I tried my best. But i think i did all the wrong things. I would on show for him to watch. I even introduced instant noodles to him. As he was hungry and i only know how to cook that.  Looking back i was ignorant. Plus last time information was not as accessible as now. 

Many times i was busy with my own life.  Schooling, dating and working.  Sometimes i bring him out. But he was spoiled by his mum and my eldest sister. I refused to buy thing for him so he was upset and  dont really wants to go out with me anymore. Thus we seldom go out Together. Another regret for me. 

There are some sweet moments. When i was sad and cry, he will comfort with his touch and quietness.  He was so cute. Big eyes, long eye lashes. I dolled him like girl. With hair band. So huggable. I actually miss hugging him.  Waiting for him after his childcare. The exciting and happy face of his.  Bringing him to playground. 

During his primary school i remember bringing him out for dinner after his class. Pepper lunch is new and popular. He wants that and he ordered $16+++ stuff to eat. Wow. I dont dare to order for myself as i am quite stringy with my money.

Then he moved out and as usual i busy with work etc.  Then eventually i get marry and have my own family.  We still always meet up. But it is no longer like before.   He grew up.  Sometimes tried to chat with him but not much success.  Maybe i am not a good talker.  He is close to the mother. Thats good.  As long he got someone to talk.

However recently just realised he was not that well after all  And it has been some times.  And no one knows.  Not even his mum. Being an aunt, i felt lousy.  There were symptoms yet i didn't check.  I was too absorbed in my own life. Now is too late for me to do anything.  Dunno how to help him. He may not even want to listen to my advice.  Is all up to himself.  But is still so painful to know that he suffered alone all these years. Where was i, when he needs someone. I really wish him well and hope he can be well again.  Maybe then i will feel less painful.  

If i can turn back the clock, i will hug him everytime i see him. Spend hour chatting etc with him.  Spend more time with him. If only i can turn back the clock...... My greatest regret.

Facial cleansers review

Today will talk about 2 facial cleansers that i tried.  1st will be Clearwave De-Bac Washing Form from Bellewave.  I really like this.  Price is around $60 plus for 200ml. Find it a bit expensive.  Love its minty scent which is great and not overwhelming.  Just mix the gel with water, before apply to face.  Always feel refresh and clean after each wash.  An ideal night facial wash for me. 

However some of its ingredients are not too good.  So my quest for night wash is not over.  During my husband current work trip, I had asked him to help me buy Philosophy's Purity Make Simple facial wash for me to try.  Can't wait for it.   Actually i am more interested in Aveda gel cleanser but quite expensive.  Maybe next time. 

Recently i also tried Durance's Cool Cleansing Gel.  Usual price is around $50 but i got it when there is buy 1 get 1 free promotion.  As i was runing out of facial wash so thought can give this a try.  Was disappointed with it.  A super light cleanser.  Can only use it for my morning wash.  Not much scent even thought it stated contains lavender essential oil.  Luckily i got during promotion.  Dont worth its price.

These few days quite moody.  Home alone with my 2 kids. Not because of this.  Actually They are quite good and cooperative especially my eldest who really behaves and help.  Maybe is because i eat and sleep less when my husband travels.  Writing makes me feel better which is something i like to do.  I hope i will continue finding time to write.

Feeling happy

Feeling happy about myself.  Choosing between sleeping for another ten mintues and spending the ten mintues reading to my elder son while my younger baby is still sleeping.  I choose the latter.  My son also cooperated. Didnt wake his sister up. So we end up reading 2 books together. And had a bread together. 

These are special quality bonding time with my first born. Maybe he does not understand why but i hope he enjoys them too.  I love him very much even though i am very strict to him. And i am still learning very hard to control my super bad temper that is with me for the past 30plus year.  Sometimes i am more angry with myself when i scream and shout at him.  I really hope i can do better than this which is my every year resolution. 

I am glad that i have such opportunity to stay at home to take care of my kids even though i still prefer to work as it is the easier choice.   But beening home make me learn and treasure little things in life.  Also without my wonderful husband who provided for us and support me in many ways, I cant possible be a stay at home. However i do miss the times we always do things together. 

We may not have a lot of things and much luxuries but i hope my kids enjoy me being at home with them.  Finally I want to wish a happy mother day to all, give ourselves a pat and have fun with our love ones.

Happy new year

Love the weather now.  Cooling days are finally here. It came late this year. Must be global warming. But happy it is here. Now i can even enjoy doing my house chores.

But still got a lot of mosquitoes. My son got so many mosquitoes bites. Sad. Really tried different methods to keep out mosquitoes from our home but seems like a losing battle.  Don't know what else to do.  Hope things will get better. 

Today my daughter suddenly had thick yellowish eye wax.  Worry! Hope it will clear soon else not sure can wait till Friday to see a doctor.  So much things to worry.

Really hope next year will be much better as 2014 is not that smooth sailing. 

Anyway my iherb stuff ate here too.  Very efficient.  I think i only order a few days ago and here it is.   Trying out new facial cleanser by Andalou Naturals - 1000 Roses Cleansing Form. 

Love its strong rose scent. Will do a review on it when i try a few more times.

Life as a stay home mum

After giving birth to my second kid in May, I have been taking care of them as a stay home mum.  My eldest currently is still going to full day child care but things will change in 2015.  He will be going to a 3 hour kindergarten instead.  I will be much busier.  Why the sudden change!

A few reasons why my husband and I decided to change his routine.  To spend more time with my eldest and allow the kids to spend more time together.  Kids in childcare tend to get sick easily so I hope my eldest health will improve.  Also to free his time for some enrichment classes during weekdays.  Thus weekends we don't have to rush for classes so that we can have time for other outdoor activities.

However my worries is I am not able to cope with the two kids.  Hope they will cooperate and I will not get frustrate so easily.  Now the challenge starts in the evening.  Next time it will start in noon and I will be all alone with them.  Can't wait.  Lol.  

Sometimes I wonder when will I get back to work force.  Quite worry I can't adjust back to work life and difficult to get a job as I will be in my late 30s.  But this will be my next year end or the year after worries.  I know I worry too much, that's why I decide to pen down as a kind of release for me.  Must take care of my own mental health.  

Actually I dislike not working as I have no income.  I have been working since graduating from polytechnic and that was like 15 years ago.  No income means cannot shopping and holidays, the loves of my life.  The last time I was on a flight is two years ago.  Time files.  Now the luxury in my life is 'ME' or kopi time while my baby or kids are sleeping.  Ok I need to end now as my baby is awake.  Hope I will write soon again.

Review

I have just given birth in 14 May.  Been a busy week.  Son is sick, baby still having jaundice.  Worry and worry.  Need to relax.  Shall write a post.  

Some products that I have tried and used before and didn't get the chance to review.  

Dior Hydra Life Skin Energizer -  a lightweight lotion.  Easier absorb to skin.  Nice fragrant.  Good for normal to oily skin type.  I got it from those office sales so not sure of its retail price or whether is it still in the market.  Don't mind getting again if got sales.  Not too bad.  My sister is a die hard fan for its product.  

Kiehl's Acne Blemish Control Daily Skin-Clearing Treatment - A white lotion type product.  Like to use it during my combination skin days, when I have pimples and white heads.  It helps to control but don't expect it to do magic.  No scent.  Used to be $52 per tub but not sure whether it's price has increase or not.  However, now not working so don't think will buy after finishing my two tubes on hand.  Save money.  

Before I gave birth, received my iHerb purchase.  

So many products to try out but these few days, not so active in trying my skincare.  Tire.  Currently trying out Dermalogica Extra Firming Booster as serum.  Will update with a review.

All about my hair

Recently I went to cut my hair short as the weather is real hot.  However the hair stylist refused to cut till super short.  Angry waste $41.  Pixie hair but with long fridge.  Don't look super nice but seem less warm.  Need to wax and I am not very good at it.  If I do not wax, I will put my skinny hair band.  My other hair band can be quite uncomfortable for a long duration. Will try to drag as long as possible for next haircut.  Save $$$$$!!!!

What do I use for my hair?  I will alternate between two to three shampoos.  Currently, I am using Natural Multiflower Ginseng Shampoo, Pure & Basic Natural Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Sunsilk's Lively Clean and Fresh shampoo.  Actually my mother in law is using the first shampoo to prevent white hair as I have quite a number of white hairs so thought this will help to prevent more.  However, it does not seems to help much.  

The fragrant is pretty strong of ginseng.  

As for Pure & Basic Natural Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, I bought from iherb to try.  Light and nice scent.  Will have the refresh after feeling.  I do not mind purchase again if there is no other better choice.  

After trying most of the Sunsilk's ranges, my favorite are Lively Clean and Fresh and Hair Fall Solution.  They keep my hair clean and manageable even without usage of conditioner.  

My usage of hair conditioner is pretty low as I don't use them often.  Too lazy.  Currently I am using Bee Choo Origin Purity Repair Hair Conditioner.  

It's scent is present.  Hair will feel smooth and silky after applying.  

Usage is even worse for my hair serum or cream. I used to use the hair cream more frequent as I will go gym during my lunch time, so after bath I will need to blow my hair dry.  Using this cream - Bamboo Smooth Anti-Breakage Thermal Protectant Spray will prevent over heat by hair dryer.  I bought this from Seporahe and cost about $33.  Not sure whether is good or not but my hair still remind almost the same during my gym days.  It could be worse with the frequent use of hairdrayer.  

Think maybe still need to color hair, still got many white hair.  Now I cut those that I can see.  Awful!!

 

Anyway I have bought a number of organic shampoo, conditioner and leave on conditioner from iherb to try.  Keke.
